A process cycle of school improvement includes the major components of creating the vision, gathering and analyzing data, designing a plan and implementing the strategies to impact greater results for students.

As an educational leadership consultant and a recognized Outside Educational Expert in New York State, I have worked in over 25 school districts serving students and teachers in more than 100 schools across the state.

The Scope of Work is tailored to meet individual district’s needs and may include the following leadership deliverables:

  • Meet with district leadership to identify key areas based on State Education Department results; using the SED list status of district and schools
  • Conduct a Leadership Self -Assessment Inventory. Identify strengths to promote building leadership and team effectiveness for success.
  • Identify leadership strategies to align K-12 District initiatives.
  • Using specific data points, progress monitor individual and building and/or district plans.
  • Design specific areas with goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable and have a time component with the Superintendent, building principals, Director/Supervisors and school teams.
  • Maintain a system of communication measuring progress and challenges.

As a certified professional coach, leadership coaching for leaders may be integrated into the delivery of the agreed upon identified scope of work. This is specifically designed to support the individuals responsible for the identified goals designed to impact school turn around for greater student achievement and success for all.

Recent research suggests the type of professional development with the most impact on student learning is one-one coaching.

As a partnership:

  • Helps leaders to become the effective change agents in their building with expertise in learning strategies to support teachers.
  • Developing a laser-like focus needed to move all stakeholders in the direction of the desired outcomes.
  • The coaching relationship has a clear focus, is goal-centered with discussions and strategies as to how to attain desired outcomes.
  • Create a space for safe dialog, confidential and designed to provide measurable improvement in identified outcomes.
