An Inside Job

“Problems are simply feedback on where we need to grow. Where we can shine light into places of ignorance, where we are inhibiting the flow of Life from coming into our life.”
– Rev. Michael Beckwith

Have you ever taken the time to reflect on nature’s messages being offered to us every day?

Are you consumed with every moment of “have to’s”, that you don’t take a minute to stop and embrace the inner feeling of abundance and gratitude for the life you have in this very moment? Yes… I am referring to this very second. In truth, we only have this moment, and then another moment. Capture this moment to bless and appreciate nature for the abundance, beauty, and the peace it has to offer. Embody this feeling to nurture your soul.

Notice in this moment where YOUR energy is going. Ask yourself this question: How do I feel in my body? Notice your thoughts. Are you worrying about what’s going to happen next? Fretting about how things will work out with your finances, health challenges, or family dynamics? Many of you may relate to noticing your energy and thoughts are focusing on the past or the future. If that is true for you, you are not being present.

I find it fascinating that we all say our desire is to live a life that is full of health and vitality, abundance, joy, peace, and LOVE. Yet, are we?

In the world today, it is not easy to stay aligned with who we truly are and know we are greater than what is going on within and around us with our family, friends, community, and the world. When we are overwhelmed and challenged in our lives and the events of the world, our egos have tried to protect us, keeping us in fear. We pull back, judge others, reluctant to say things, speak our truth, or afraid we will lose the love of others.

Although each of us experiences our own circumstances, as a collective, we all share stories that have some version that conveys feelings of heartbreak, stress, and loss. If we are far greater than our thinking, our old patterns can be dismantled.

For me, it helps to remember I have the freedom to honor my feelings and choose how I respond to my thoughts.

Listed below are 5 ways you may find yourself relating to your circumstances. What do you notice?

• Life is happening “TO ME”. This is when we knowingly or subconsciously give our power away outside of ourselves. The ego is very busy mulling over our circumstances. As the expression goes, “what we think about we bring about”. When we hover in doubt, fear, distrust, and scarcity, we create more of it. We often ask, “Why is this happening to me?” We may blame, shame, or complain.

• Life is happening “BY ME”. This is when we are willing to “let go” of something versus being consumed with the “if only” thinking. We take responsibility for what we create, forgive ourselves and others for not being the way we think they should be. We create our experiences by what we choose to think, feel, do, and believe. Forgiveness is one of our keys for greater freedom and light.

• Life is happening “FOR ME”. Often our circumstances are beyond our comprehension, like a devastating health challenge, the loss of a loved one, or financial hardship. We begin to see the power of thought and how having an inner faith can restore a sense of acceptance. This requires us to embrace the truth that there is a greater purpose, one that we can’t see or feel, and must trust in something greater than ourselves.

• Life is happening “THROUGH ME”. This provides us with the opportunity to make being in companionship with the Divine welcome. I choose to partner in love with the Divine versus feeling separate. Embracing the good in myself and others. I align with my body, heart, and soul. Recall when a light in your house isn’t working, you know there is an electrical source that generates the light, and you may need to ensure the bulb works or the cord is plugged in. The Source is there.

• Life is happening “AS ME”. This is when we embrace Light and Love, a pure beingness, with no observer being present. Some may experience this in meditation and others may feel a oneness with nature or attuned to the essence of Love by closing your eyes and being in silence, the energy of life, our Divine Connection.

What if you could change your thoughts, your perspective on some of the circumstances in your life? Consider being open to writing a new story that up until now you have been attached to, be willing to forgive yourself and others. How might this shift your consciousness to bring greater health, prosperity, and abundance into your own life?

We are Divinely Guided. You are far greater than any circumstances. You are not alone.

Love, trust, faith, forgiveness, and gratitude are an inside job.

Much love, light, and healing.
