“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
As the months go by, you may be noticing, or even deeply feeling, that the outside world seems to be going sideways, or perhaps completely upside down. There is less clarity, less predictability, and far less certainty than many of us are used to. Some may attribute this to planetary alignments, global shifts, political polarizations, and so much more that feels beyond our control.
On a more personal level, this uncertainty shows up closer to home. Family members and friends may be struggling with health and wellness concerns, financial pressures, emotional exhaustion, or simply a lack of time and freedom to truly care for themselves. Even those who appear “fine” on the outside may be quietly carrying fear, grief, or a sense of overwhelm. It can feel heavy… and at times discouraging to witness this, especially when we want so badly to help but don’t know how.
When I find myself touched by this collective and personal weight, I pause and take a deep breath. I turn inward to my heart and soul for guidance and spiritual wisdom. I lean into faith: a deep inner knowing that there is more for us than a world that often feels overly materialistic and wildly out of control.
This is the moment where choice lives.
Each of us has a choice about which path we will walk in our hearts. Will we allow despair, fear, and constant worry to guide our thoughts and actions? Or will we choose to see this time as a living test of faith, an invitation to trust more deeply even when circumstances do not make sense?
“Your presence is the most precious gift you can give to another human being. Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.”
– Roy Bennett, The Light in the Heart
Where will I choose to place my attention? Where do you choose to place yours?
Are we watching for life’s quiet synchronicities, you know, the subtle signs that remind us we are going to be alright? Are we cultivating awareness and gratitude for the everyday miracles we often overlook? The ability to breathe, to walk, to speak without conscious effort. The sun rising and setting faithfully without us needing to do anything at all.
Thoughts can work for us or against us. When we focus on what we do want, rather than what we fear or resist, we align more closely with our heartfelt intentions and desires. These intentions carry a vibration of greater love, compassion, and acceptance. In trusting that we are Divinely guided by something greater than ourselves, we naturally begin to attract more positive experiences, loving connections, and opportunities to grow and evolve.
“We are all energy.” When I reflect on the deeper impact of this statement, the level of vibrational connection and vastness is extraordinary. No longer can we separate science and spirituality. The shift in thinking is helping us transform and embody the visible as well as the invisible world in which we exist.
It calls for us to open to new ideas, experiences, and ways of relating and being in this world. The past taught us to forgive and let go with compassion and love for ourselves as well as others. Some days it may feel like a blank canvas. We have seen many aspects of life changing. A greater connection between our minds and hearts opens new perspectives and offers different ways of moving forward in our lives.
Leaning into my faith and taking moments to listen to this inner knowing brings me a deeper sense of peace. It reassures me that all is well… even when my outer world tells a very different story. This, too, is part of the test. And while it can be challenging, it is also an invitation to live with greater trust, grace, and love.
What is one action you can take today to lean into your faith and feed your heart and soul?
