“Be in love with your life, every minute it.”
– Jack Kerouac
We often talk about the power of your words and thoughts. But do you believe in the power of numbers?
Did you know that in both spiritual and Vedic traditions, 2025 is considered a pivotal turning point, centering around endings, completions, the collapse of old systems, and the releasing of what no longer serves? In numerology, 2025 sums to 9, a number associated with finishing cycles and closure.
The numerology message for 2026 sums to 1 and is known as a Universal Year. The number one represents beginnings, new experiences, initiative, the power to steer the course of your life in a new direction, profound transformation, and a call to awaken one’s authentic inner self.
As we embark on a new nine-year cycle, we are given an opportunity to reflect on what we no longer want to carry forward in our minds and hearts, and what we want to promote, celebrate, and embrace.
Think about a holiday or any event that brings people together. As much as we hope to gather with ease, fun, peace, and love, the expectations and hype can sometimes stir emotions tied to old stories or judgments we have carried for years, often without realizing they are still within us.
Our thoughts are powerful. What we think about, we bring about.
Have you ever noticed yourself holding a story in your mind, only to see it play out in real life? If you spent the past year reframing and releasing negative or fearful thoughts, choosing instead to be more positive, hopeful, honest, and kind, pause and acknowledge your efforts. Embrace how far you have come. Release old behaviors and patterns of trying to please, over-giving, compensating, clinging to outdated beliefs, or fretting about what you cannot control.
Here is a question I asked myself, and I invite you to take it on as well:
What events or circumstances stand out most in your mind from 2016 to 2025?
When I asked myself that question, I was amazed by how much had changed in my life. Loss of friends, relationships, and careers. Shifts in adventure and travel. Even selling the home where I lived for almost half my life to explore a new geographic location and community. As I read my list, I experienced feelings of joy, peace, freedom, and expansiveness, along with emotions that felt heavy and sad. Yet I knew everything had happened for me, and I needed to trust a higher purpose that I could not fully put into words.
As we stand on the edge of a new year, what do you want most this year in relation to your health, career, time, money, freedom, and relationships?
What did you just notice when you read that question?
Some may have rolled their eyes, doubting that anything could be different from last year, or wondering why they should even bother because “it will never happen.” And that is the point. We create our experiences. This truth can take time to accept and digest. It requires compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, and surrendering the past and an old identity that is no longer who we are.
The world has changed us in so many ways. Have you noticed a shift in how you determine what is important for your health and well-being? It is time to allow new energies and new beginnings. If change were easy, you would have already done it. What brings peace and love into your heart and soul? Greater freedom and peace will manifest when you consciously choose to hold the energy of love and possibility within you.
You are not alone. Lean on your faith, the Universe, God, Divine Spirit, or whatever language speaks to the part of life that is bigger than you. This is your lifeline. Allow your mind, heart, and soul to remain open to possibilities, even when they feel impossible. What would need to be different?
Each year, I choose to focus on a few clear intentions, anchoring into my mind the feeling of already having what I desire. This is where your choice of words becomes important. For example: I am energized and grateful for my vibrantly strong, healthy body, moving easily throughout my day. I am thrilled that my second book has been published. I am love and divinely guided in all my relationships.
Are you ready and willing to set your intentions?
What would you love to manifest?
Focus on what you do want, not what you do not want. I have a zero balance on one of my credit card commitments, rather than I don’t want to be in debt. The more your mind focuses on debt, the more it creates it. Remember, what we think about, we bring about.
