Beyond Physical Alignment

Can you think of a time when one of those “warning lights” came on in your car while you are driving?

You know, the ones that tell you that your fuel is running low, or a battery light or low tire pressure comes on as a precautionary warning to give some attention to an area of your car? Taking good care of my car has always been a priority since I drive a great deal for both work and fun.

Let’s take this thought a step further…

Have you ever noticed or considered issues with your car or other circumstances may be an outer representation of what might be going on within you?

For a number of years, I have used these outer messages as mini “wake up” calls to ask myself…where in my life might I need to give myself better care or attention?

While driving a few months ago, I had a car accident. As I reflected, I am not sure which happened first as it all seemed to happen so fast. The right side of my car pulled to the right, blew a tie, and hit a curb.

The good news is no one was hurt! Needing it towed and an assessment of the damage beyond a blown tire, was a broken tie rod, suspension and the need of a new wheel replacement and alignment. Yikes! That got my attention!

While waiting on parts for almost two months, I had the opportunity to have two rental cars. After the first week I got a flat tire with the first one.  Really? You can’t make this stuff up!

What was the Universe’s message for me?  Where have I been feeling out of alignment?

Can you identify with times in your life when you feel out of sorts, have a gut feeling that something may not feel right?  Are you noticing you have been too busy, eating less healthy, getting less sleep, feeling tired, and just out of sorts and not really knowing why?

Guess what? We are our thoughts! Where your attention goes the energy flows.

Our thoughts either come from love, joy and abundance or they come from fear, doubt and lack. Living with the pattern of feeling stressed, tense and anxious is definitely not coming from a place of love.

What if you could shift your thinking, welcoming that all circumstances are happening for reasons that will serve you?

What if you could be open to thinking a different way and, aligning to your heart and soul instead of what your mind is telling you?

Here are some ABC’s for the alignment of your heart and soul:

  • Accept your beauty inside and out. You are more than enough.
  • Allow yourself to forgive yourself and others with compassion.
  • Abundance is an inside job.
  • Allow yourself to be seen. You make a difference in this world no matter what.
  • Be honest and loving with yourself and others. Give up judgement on all levels.
  • Breathe deeply, be quiet and invite Spirit into your life.
  • Be grateful for all that you have.
  • Choose thoughts that generate positive energy.
  • Courageously step up and speak up.
  • Cheer yourself on with love and humor! Being serious is over-rated!
