Take the Leap

Are you ready to “Take the Leap” into a new year?  Maybe approach things with a different perspective, more kindness, love in your heart, or making an life changing commitment to yourself or to others?

Using a scale from 1-10, 10 being the highest, ask yourself this question

How would I rate myself?

What did you just notice about your reaction to that question? Did you hear yourself groan or even say I don’t have time for this? Maybe you played it safe and rated mid-range numbers OR, did you go for it! YES! with no hesitation, you said 10! Was that you?

Your heart and soul already know what has been “ticker taping” in your mind. Are you now committed to taking that heart-felt action for yourself?

Our world and lives are all changing. What if you could have more energy, health, freedom, love, adventure, and prosperity?  You may get more of the same if you don’t consciously take some action.

What is holding you from taking the leap of change for greater happiness?

Does your mind re-run the old beliefs and stories you have been telling yourself?  Exactly, that story is old! Is it serving you?You are deserving and worthy of putting yourself first! And, by the way, this is not a selfish act.  It is time to take the leap and be open to a healthier attitude, a different path, healing relationships, new relationships, whatever resonates in your heart.

The past few years offered to us many wake-up calls to engage NOW with life and people differently. Many of us often hold on to what we know without being open to change. You may know you need to make healthier choices, and, up until now, being in your comfort zone has supported your old pattern of complacency. Give yourself permission to say yes to you.

Honestly, until now, you have not been committed to taking the action which would give you the breakthrough you most want. Let yourself envision the possibility of something you have always wanted. It might be starting a new project, deciding to move, sell your house, seek a new job, meeting a soul-mate, planning to travel, going for a walk, designing daily quiet time, saying no to others as a loving way to take care of you.

What if this year you take a deep breath, reflect and take the leap of faith for greater health, adventure, trust, and love?

I am not talking about resolutions that often are broken before the week or month is over. I am talking about the deep knowing that it is time. The old way of being just doesn’t serve you anymore. Not to worry, you may not know how or when in this moment, just plant the seed of possibility and you will begin to feel closer to taking an action.

Several years ago, Gay Hendricks, New York Times bestselling author of The Big Leap, writes about how we can take our lives to the next level by overcoming our one barrier to happiness and fulfillment. He helps the reader identify their own upper limit in everyday life, love and even finances. You may be on one of the greatest opportunities in your life. It requires the skill of taking the leap, Are you ready?

Take the Leap for you this year. Stop procrastinating, stuck in your old story. Write a new ending. We never know what can happen in any given moment. Love your family and friends, be kind to people at work and in your community, release the anger and resentments, practice forgiveness and gratitude. Start a new chapter!

Wishing you much love, health and happiness in 2023!
