Things are Happening for Me

“When we are no longer motivated by fear, we understand that every moment is perfection in its own way. We no longer dread what we can’t control; we learn to respect the wisdom of Spirit rather than impose our will on situations. This is the path of genuine power.”

-Alberto Villoldo

Does your life look different than you imagined? Have you had to “take the frame off your picture of life”?

Maybe you can relate to a time in your life when you felt overwhelmed or stuck in life’s circumstances. As a young adult, I often felt life was happening “to me,” entertaining conversations like “how could they,” “they don’t understand,” “it’s not fair,” and “why is this happening to me?” The dialogue went on and on.

What I noticed is that when we are stuck in that kind of energy, we are not happy and are always looking outside of ourselves for someone else or something else to make us happy.

The good news… you can change and are responsible for your own happiness and joy.

Where are you? On a scale of 1-10, 10 being joyful and happy, how would you rate yourself? If you notice a lower number than you desire, start noticing your thoughts and feelings. Might you be resisting, judging, blaming, or envying others?

What actions can you take to shift your story?

If you are in the upper range, congratulations! You are shifting perspectives, putting yourself first, which is not selfish; this is called self-care. Are you noticing that you are taking greater responsibility for yourself, your thoughts, feelings, and your own happiness and joy?

By making conscious choices to look at life differently, we are more empowered with a greater sense of freedom. We evolve and grow into a healthier, more loving, and happier person, living a life we are responsible for creating.

Remember the caterpillar that transforms into a butterfly? We get to make that kind of transformation as well. Can you envision that? One that evolves with mind, body, and spirit.

Essentially, “taking the frame off your picture in your mind” is a metaphor that encourages flexibility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to break free from mental constraints. It invites individuals to explore the world with fresh eyes, unburdened by preconceived notions, and to embrace the endless possibilities that await beyond the confines of their mental frames.

Letting go of belief systems that we were taught by our parents and teachers and their parents and teachers are exactly that, their beliefs. What is true for you?

Invite expansive energy into your breath; release all the old patterns and stories that no longer serve you. Open your mind and heart to the possibilities that are presented when “life is happening for us.”

Embrace the following strategies for taking off the frame (your perspective) and to be open to change:

  • Before you get up, set an intention for the kind of day you desire. Take a few deep cleansing breaths to help you ground your mind, body, and spirit.
  • Give yourself permission to change your mind. Practice releasing your need for perfection.
  • Press “pause” before rushing into action or decision-making.
  • Be open to a fresh perspective for change and personal growth. It involves challenging self-imposed limitations and being willing to explore new experiences and possibilities.
  • Trust the Universe; you are not alone.
  • In personal relationships, removing the frame can lead to better understanding and communication. Instead of imposing expectations or judgments on others, we can approach them with empathy and a willingness to see things from their perspective.
  • Walk in nature; be “one” with the trees.
  • Smile more… open your heart of abundance and love.

Wishing you much love and health!
