Why Wait?

Growing up…. how often were you told to wait? Wait until your father comes home, wait until after your supper, wait your turn, wait for them to ask you, wait for someone else to make a decision, wait to be the right age, wait to start a project, wait for help, wait to approach a parent to ask for something you wanted, wait until your married, wait until you have enough money, wait to leave a job, wait to leave a relationship and often we find ourselves waiting until tomorrow to do things!

Have you ever thought of all of the beliefs we carry that we were told and learned well from our parents, teacher and others? It’s amazing right? And, we are now discovering that many of these beliefs, doubts and fears were not our own, but the projections of others on our impressionable conscious and subconscious mind. Even newborn babies get imprinted with the energy from loved ones.

Two of the many quotes I love to follow in Eckhardt Tolle’s, The Power of NOW are:

“I speak of profound transformation of human consciousness-not as a distant future possibility, but available now- no matter who or where you are.” (Tolle).

It lights up my heart to see that we are now re-examining for ourselves whether these “truths” are really so. It doesn’t matter who or where you are”.  A beautiful sense of freedom and aliveness enters the soul for one to know we are not our past. This allows us to create a different future.

This is the life journey we are all walking. Today’s world has unearthed every belief system anyone has ever experienced. Certainly, listening to the news is beyond ones’ comprehension of the devastation, destruction and despair so many are experiencing.

I love the self-inquiry technique (referred to as The Work) by Byron Katie. Katie asks four simple questions about painful thoughts and beliefs: “Is it true?” “Can you absolutely know it’s true?”, “How do you react when you hear that thought?”, and “Who would you be without the thought?” Katie shares her transformation and experience and states, “All suffering comes from believing our thoughts.”

Why Wait… let’s change our thoughts!

“Become an alchemist. Transmute base metal into gold, suffering into consciousness, disaster into enlightenment.” (Tolle).

How do we do this? We start by being responsible for our own thoughts and our actions. We can transform things with intention for the better. Making a difference for a higher good.

And we do it NOW. Why Wait?

Like some, we may have grown up being rewarded, recognized and loved when our actions of helping and supporting family, friends and others came from the lens of a caretaking, enabling and rescuing nature.

Today, what if we shifted our perspectives and mindsets to be in the experience of “being in service” to the growth consciousness of all parties involved? That is a game changer!

Gratitude and forgiveness are the underpinnings of change and “being the alchemist” as Tolle states in our own lives, opens the door for the freedom and heart-felt desires.

Why Wait?

Marci Shimoff, New York Times bestselling author of Happy for No ReasonSeven Steps to Being Happy for No Reason, states that “all conscious change begins with intention.” Using the Law of Attraction she refers to a three-step formula: “Intention – Be clear about what you want, Attention – What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life and No Tension – Let go and relax.”

You get to choose how you want to life your life. Even in the most difficult times and circumstances, you will find that where you put your attention is where your energy goes.

The time is NOW. How might you change and transform your life for greater happiness?
